Does anyone know of a good lipstick camera dvr setup that works well with FCP?
It seems there are decent setups for Baja Racing, Nascar and Motorcross but some do not work
well and are a little buggy with formats in FCP?

Thank you very much any and all help.

How would a lipstick camera be buggy with FCP? You still have to plug them into a deck like DV or a bigger deck like a BetaSP. You can edit all formats fine with FCP. What specific issues with FCP are you referring to?

I read a review somewhere of a new Elmo lipstick camera. Looked interesting. I think it recorded to a small hard drive. Found the link. The Elmo SUV. Not sure how it plays with FCP.

It’s only standard definition, so it’s life span is pretty short. You might want to wait for an HD version. Here’s a link to more info.

Yeah, I’ll second that. Cameras aren’t buggy with FCP, formats are.

As for the camera you can go to http://www.markertek.com and look at the Helmet Cam. I wrote a review on one a while back when we did a Lamborghini project and attached the camera to a Diablo while it ran around Road Atlanta. Excellent camera and can’t beat the price. You feed it to the camera / VTR of choice.

Not sure when that will be. Even on NASCAR in camera coverage, the cameras are all SD so I’m sure if/when a liptstick HD camera arrives it will be very pricey.

    Walter,
I don’t know if you’ve seen this yet, but this little camera is very impressive.

I just can’t see him spending $1,300 on an SD lipstick cam. Here’s another micro-size HD camera.

The camera looks good for sure but now I am looking for the drive that goes with it
and make sure it has the correct format for FCP.
