With the update comes a new version of the user guide. For what it’s worth, the new Final Cut Pro X Help for 10.0.1 is 375 pages. The original document is 454 pages. I wonder what happened to 79 pages?

[Gerry Fraiberg] ” I wonder what happened to 79 pages?

    Those pages became more efficient?

Maybe that’s it. I suppose a page by page comparison would tell the tale. Any takers?

    Does it scroll horizontally?

Does it have its own widgit?

Do the pages have a new numerical system apple created by only using positive integers because they finally discovered how to create spiritual oneness with the user?

    Are entire chapters just buzzwords?

I’m thinking yes to all the above.

Perhaps the Magic Cursor™ in the internal beta of Pages X decided those pages could be moved away to eternity.

    Ok, someone help me please…

I was able to save the previous FCX manual as a pdf. I don’t see that option here.

Also, I was trying to use the search function to find information in the manual, “roles” for example. No hits for me.

In fact, using the menu Edit/Find, the find (opt-cmd-F) is greyed out.

    Am I doing something wrong?

It’s strange and non-intuitive to me that I can’t print the book from the help viewer, even though I still need to be connected to the internet to use it.

    Thank you for your help.

    I now have my pdf.

The optimist in me suggests they cleaned up 79 pages of known bugs…

My guess is that there is no PDF for FCPX (beyond downloading through the Print function) is that it’s still a work in progress much more so than Motion or Compressor.
