Final Cut Pro X FCP 10.0.6 Compound Clip match BUG
The only thing holding me back from moving to X fulltime is the lack of matchback on compound clips. I like to use embedded sequences, or now compound clips, for a variety of submasters, graphics, etc. Some of my compound clips are quite lengthy.
The problem is, when you cut a compound clip into the project timeline, and then decide that you want to change an edit, when you open the cc it DOES NOT OPEN at the playhead of the timeline you started in, it gets you lost somewhere in the compound clip.
Here is my workaround…park the project timeline at the point you want to change the edit (assuming there is a compound clip there on the timeline). Hit REVEAL IN EVENT BROWSER. Then WRITE THE TIMECODE NUMBER DOWN on a piece of paper. Then open the CC and type in the TC number, and you are at the right place.
If there was a way to copy that TC number from the dashboard, you would not have to resort to pen and paper! But then again, it should just open up on the place you were parked, right? Anyone have a better workaround?
