I have a PowerMac G4 (originally 450 upgraded to 1.2ghz) and I recently purchase keynote to convert powerpoint presentation to a quicktime file and then edit in final cut pro 4. The original AGP card in my system caused my system to crash when I would start Keynote. So I purchased the ATI Radeon 9200 Mac Edition pci card. Keynote works just fine now but when I start Final Cut Pro 4 it gives me an error message that says Configuration error This software requires certain hardware or software which is missing.

Did you delete the FCP prefs? Might still be expecting the old card. Maybe try deleting multiple prefs to see if you can get the error to go away.

Our oldest workstation has that very same pci card. it’s a dual 500 g4 and runs fcp 4.1.1.
it must be a preferences or install problem.
