Final Cut Pro Studio 2
I have just received a FCP project file (and all associated media) that was saved in FCP Studio 2 and I only have FCP ver.5.1.
If I find someone who has FCP Studio 2 can I have them save the project to an older version of FCP?Thank you in advance

yes,
get them to export “XML” files.
there are 3 or more versions of xml. have them export them all.
I’ve done this 3 times before, it definitely works.

Once I have found someone to export the project as XML files do I then, simply import the XML file and re-link the media?

the .xml files will open just like a .fcp file
and yes they will prompt you to re-link media.
you may see a log error or 2 but it’s never caused
a problem before.
