    Hi guys,

I’ve recently started work at a marketing new company, and one of my first tasks is clean up and sort their footage/masters/any source, which involves much copying of files from one harddrive to another. FCP 7 was opening fine all week, but now it seems to crash or freeze on the FCP opening title card, when you click the app and it shows all your licensing info etc. Is it possible all this copying causes it to “Not Respond” as finder would say? I’m running an Intel 27 inch i5, 4gb ram.

Trash your Final Cut preferences files. Here’s how from Larry Jordan.

Brad Wright is software engineer, so it may be difficult to understand what he is saying. He is always happy to explain his greater detail.

    Hello Brad

I followed all your video steps to clear out preferences, however the problem still there.
My FCP 7 crashes with some files, not all. It won’t allow me to view my footage and as it
plays while viewing in FCP, it will freeze, stop, also sound is distorted
and lastly it will crash. Any thoughts on my problem? Thank you.
