Hi, Recently we had a SAN installed and since then whenever I go from the Finder back into my project I have to wait about 10 seconds. First I get the clock, then the colour wheel, before I can work again. Any suggestions?

who makes the SAN ? What is the manufacturer (don’t be shy, we are all here).

I suggest that you run Disk Utilities>Disk First Aid on your RAID array, or shared volume, and then run repair permissions on your MAC’s boot drives. Yes – all of them. Then see what happens.

Is your RAID array full ? Exactly what brand is your RAID array ?

Hi, I will need to do my homework then. All I can see is that it is called METASAN installed by the MAC-CENTRE. We are connected via fibre cables and I am editing with large quantities of HQ media. Perhaps I’m asking too much of my system to be so responsive, but I thought that speed would be blasting with this new system. I have a fast Mac with 12cores, my project is less than 60MB and the HQ media is on the SAN.

    Leah –
well, it turns out that Creative Cow has a MetaSAN forum – you can ask them directly on the forum why your system is hesitating !

You have a fibre channel system if you are using MetaSAN. When you repost to the MetaSAN forum on Creative Cow, you should specifically state exactly
