I can use the keyboard to set my in and out points and then make an overwrite edit but after I make the edit the timeline becomes enabled and I have to use the mouse to click back in the viewer. I’m trying to cut the mouse out of the equation. Also, is there a way to navigate to the browser with the keyboard? How do I enable the browser, scroll up and down, and then open clips? Thanks.

All pretty basic shortcuts, so here goes:

    Focus on Viewer: cmd-1
    Focus on Browser: cmd-4
Navigation in Browser: arrow keys, first letter jump
Send to selected clip in Browser to Viewer: Enter

    Cue the invitations the RTFM…

The browser window comes by default with a keyboard shortcut of command+4. You can find any keyboard shortcuts and create your own by using the “customize” keyboard layout option under the “tools” drop-down menu. (or you can hit alt+h)

Thanks for responding so fast. While messing around, I discovered that “q” will jump you from the timeline to the viewer and vice -versa. Thanks for the tips.
