Final Cut Pro rendering
I’m working on a video portfolio of my sisters acting. Some files are .dv others are .mov.
Every time I try to render, I get a message saying theres insufficient memory and to clear out the render manager, yet its empty.
The file is 4.4MB -

Hi Lisa,
You would go better by re-wrapping the “.dv’ files.
With MPGstreamclip just need to “Save as..QT”.

I changed the .dv’s to .mov’s but am still having the same problem

Repair permissions
Trash Prefs
reboot

What kind of specs? (Sorry, im not great at the very technical side of things.)
I’ve relaunched FCP, and now have a ‘additional render files’ folder in the Render Manager.

I looked at three different clips and got this, sorry its not more.
Size? 960×720/ 156.2MB/ 282.1 MB
DVCPRO HD 720p50/ Dv/DVCPRO -NTSC/DV-PAL
Frame Rate? 25fps/ 29.97 fps/25 fps
All play on QuickTime -
Which is the dominate format? Which sequence settings?

Sequence preset is DV NTSC 48 KHz -
It appears that her scratch disk is full. That’s when FCP tells you to clear out with the render manager. That doesn’t mean that clearing out with the render manager is going to do anything. If you haven’t rendered anything yet, then of course it’s not.
Lisa check in your scratch disk prefs where the renders are set to go, and if there’s enough drive space there.
Then there’s the mess of formats and frame rates you’re mixing.

I know x.x Im more used to downloading from a camera through a mini DV then using a harddrive.
It saids i have 100 MB of minimum allowed free space on the disk. And by all the ticks it says 44.4 MB on FCP
