  • Final Cut pro quits when using AJA Video Output plugin

Posted by Laura Gruszczynski on November 29, 2010 at 8:25 pm

    Hi,
I am working with Apple Pro Res 422 HQ 1080p 29.97 converted from H.264 shot with a Canon 5D and 7D in FCP 7 on a Mac Pro 2.66 GHz Quad with 8GB of RAM.

In the video output in FCP’s audio/video settings, there is no option for 1080p 29.97. The closest thing I can find is 1080i. Obviously the video card does not like this option, as FCP quits on me.
I have received this message twice now in the past two weeks.
“Final Cut Pro quit unexpectedly while using the AJAVideoOutput plugin”
I updated the AJA software to the most recent and it did it again.
Should I use one of the 1080p options even though the frame rate does not match?
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

    Laura

Check in AJA control panel if ALL the framerates are turned on. You can turn some on or off.
    Restart FCP after.

You should be able to playback 1080p29,97 with a Kona LHe/LHi or 3.

I believe the AJA output plugin is an Adobe Premiere related plugin.
Is this possible? Try and remove it from the Library.

You can always call AJA. They are very nice, good and helpful.

1080p29’97 is transported as psf, so as 1080i50.

    Hi,
I went into the control panel and turned on the 1080p option, and now it let’s me select that in the playback settings.
Let’s see if I have anymore unexpected quits. Will keep you posted.
    Thanks for all your help!
