Final Cut Pro 7 crashes every time I a particular project file. I’ve tried various recommendations from other forums I’ve googled, such as trashing preferences, repairing disc permissions on Apple Disc Utility, and the crashing hasn’t stopped. FCP opens fine and other project files are accessible. If this were happening on my personal imac, which it has before, I would have reinstalled FCP Studio. The distributor who sold my supervisor Final Cut Studio didn’t include the FCP Studio disc set but rather sold him his imac with FCP studio already installed. If the discs were included, I would have simply done a reinstall.

I this particular project crashes on multiple machines while these machines work fine with other FCP projects, it is most likely a corrupted FC project file…

Maybe you have tried this but can you go back through your auto save vault and find a project version that does not crash your machine?

Thanks Richard. I was able to place an autosaved version. It still crashes occasionally but not as frequently as before. I wish I knew what causes files in FCP to get corrupt and if there is a way to fix it.
