I shot a video with a computer monitor in one of the clips. The monitor is not lit (I had no plug for it). I would like to light the monitor screen now. I have tried a lens flair effect in Final Cut, but is doesn’t look that great. Any suggestions, other then reshooting the scene?

Have you tried garbage matting a still image?
Maybe with a glow filter you may get the effect you are wanting

    Good Luck

    Can you explain garbage matting?

Place your image in a new layer, add either (4-point garbage matte) filter or (8-point garbage matte) to the image. Then adjust the corner points to fit the shape of the computer monitor.

    Hope that helps
