After a recent purchase of a new MacBookPro, and a clean install of Studio 2, I was remissed to find that my Vitrix plugins no longer work. I thought I read somewhere that some plugins might not work with the intel chip.

Has anyone else heard of this? I’m just now reading about the differences between FxScripts and FxPlugs…(the Vitrix plugins look not to be “Final Cut Plugins” but rather executable files)…

I am not able to code in C++ or any such language, so my skills with FxBuilder may be limited…but maybe there is a way to convert the plugins to a compatible format?

The Virtix plug-ins are After Effects format and your old non-Universal versions won’t work on Intel. It’s not something you can convert yourself, it’s up to Virtix to update the plug-ins to Universal Binary versions. Their site hasn’t been updated for 3 years or so, I wouldn’t hold out much hope but it’s worth dropping them an email.

    Hi,
I’ve got the very same issue:
The trouble is, Virtix is out of business for 2 or 3 years now!!

I’ve got 30 good Virtix’s effects, they work just fine on a PowerPC base mac, but in an Intel base mac, nah, they don’t!

Anyone knows how to make it work? It’s too bad that it would’nt work on a Intel, as I’ve got some projects using these effects! If I change my “old” Powerbook G4 for a new Intel Mac, I won’t be able to edit them with these effects!

    Hi again…
The question is not to learn any trick, but to be able to open an old project with all the effects! ANd guess what: no equivalent effect exists (such as “laser” and “laser point to point”, “zap gun”.
