I am working on a new project in which I have an assistant that is dedicated to logging. I have him logging the footage using very elaborate descriptions as I need to know what is said that is important in each piece.

We are logging on one system and then transferring the video files to another to do the editing on. The problem I have is that the log notes, description and scene are not transferring with the video footage.

Is there a setting that I need to check? I know that they are being recorded as the Logging machine shows them all fine as the logger has entered them but they are not on the editing machine.

    Any help would be appreciated.

What’s the assistant using to log? FCP? Set up the browser with the information columns you need and export a batch list. Import the batch list to the other machine. Reconnect the media. The logged information is not attached in any way to the media files.

    All the best,

    Tom
