I am having an issue with my Final Cut Pro Interface disappearing. If I hide FCP or play a clip. It randomly disappears except a ghosted outline of the video display window and the tools. I tried re-installing FCP, re-installing the OS, trashing preferences, and rebooting. The only way to get it back is if I log out of the OS, and back in (same user). Has anybody experienced this or heard of this? Any help would be appreciated.

    I am running:
    FCP 6.0.2
    MAC OS 10.5.2
    BlackMagic Intensity Pro

sounds like you are having trouble with Expose/Spaces getting in the way of FCP’s function keys causing your application windows to hide, rearrange, disappear off into other “spaces” etc etc

I always recommend FCP users remap Expose/Spaces/Dashboard to less obtrusive keys, as the default settings tend to clash with primary FCP edit keys

you can remap your keys in the OS System Preferences >> Expose & Spaces pane

if necessary, you can also disable “spaces” there too

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, that can’t be the case. I don’t use spaces, and it is not enabled.
