    hello i need to no if i can do offline edits in final cut pro hd then export an edl to go for online on a sony hd edit. If I label all the tapes and have timecode to correspond will this work, if so is there specific export settings for this. I would really appreciate a respons thank u so much in advance.

    Yes, it can, as long as the Sony takes CMX3600 EDLs. What is the Sony HD Edit?

    Make sure that you are only doing CUTS and DISSOLVES…no fancy filters.

    sorry its the sony xpris hd suite do u think it would take that kind of eld? I just thought that since one is on a sony computer and the final cut is on mac, obviously, wasnt sure if edls could work together.

    ELDs are cross platform. That is really the reason for their existence….to take a project from an Avid to a linear edit bay and online assemble on a Grass Valley, or to finish on a Discreet system….pretty much go from one system to another.

    EDLs have different standards, such as CMX3600 (the most common used) and GVG 7.0.
