final cut pro for pc?
Someone has probably asked this before, and they will probably ask this again, but why is there no PC version of Final Cut? Clearly it is not beyond the Apple boffins to reconfigure a codex or two to run on a PC, so it looks like we have a case of business interests scuppering progress (again). Allegedly. Flippancy aside, a PC version would create a huge new pool of buyers overnight, and what consumers really love is a piece of kit that works with everything. That’s why we have standardised electricity supplies and drive on a certain side of the road. Less hassle.

You’re WAY to late to this battle.
The war is over.
FCP 7 is moving toward legacy status. (Still working fine but Apple is no longer developing it since the introduction of FCP-X)
FCP X is purpose designed to leverage core Mac processes that simply don’t exist in Windows environments. (Core Annimation, Core Graphics, Grand Central, etc, etc, etc.) Windows has equivalents and can certainly edit video quite nicely, but the underlying technology is TOTALLY different.
Simple as that.

Why would Apple want people to go out and buy PCs?? Lol!

Adobe Premiere on Windows is the closest you will get.
Same reason you will never see Sony Vegas on a Mac.

Apple is a hardware company. They want to sell Macs, iPhones, iPads, etc.,. The software and services they offer are all geared up to sell Apple hardware. That’s why the only software that is cross platform is software that enables iDevices to interface with PCs.
Hardware is key to Apple’s ecosystem so I don’t see them turning into a software company anytime soon.

FC.6 and FC.7 runs great on PC (Hackintosh).
Many people do it. Saves a 30% in hardware.
