When I export a lossless Quicktime to be used in FCP…it works in Final Cut Pro.

When I export what I THINK to be a lossless Quicktime to be used in AE…I get only audio, and a white screen.

What is going on here? I have tried exporting as AppleIntermediate, DVCPRO, HDV, ANIMATION Lossless, and it cannot give me video! I am so frustrated, because I know my inexperience is probably getting in the way. I hate programs that can’t play nice with each other!

How can I render a lossless video file from FCP, that After Effects can actually see? Please help meeee! O.o

To clarify, the video can be seen in FCP, and on Apple computers, but when burnt to a disc and put onto my PC based AE, only the audio is seen, and the video is white.

How weird. I just posted nearly the exact same question, except my footage is HDV. Is yours?

It sounds as if your Windows box doesn’t have the right codecs. Try TGA sequence or Photo-JPEG, or something else until you get something you can see. Then get back to us.

It was shot originally in HDV I believe. 1960×1440

Targa sequence like Steve Roberts suggested. I’ll try that today.

    Hey…

I have seen this b4 when the version of quicktime hasn’t been updated… check that its the most current version of QT… or go to VLC (i think they have a microshaft verson ;)… you say it works in FCP… neither the export from AE or FCP is working?? then steve is right and its a codec problem and you prolly jus need to update QT….

    hope this helps

Final Cut Pro can see exports from AE, but AE can’t see exports from Final Cut Pro.

That’s a good point about the Quicktime codec. I will also try and update that.

Targa sequence seems right. I can open up the individual targas, but when I try and import them into AE, I click the Targa Sequence, it recognizes the order…I hit ok…It does nothing. No processing hourglass.
