Hey, im quite new to final cut pro, but i have a serious problem.

    I have a early 2011 macbook pro 2.7GHz Inter Core i7, 4Gb ram, 1333 MHz DDR3

Everytime i open up final cut pro and start editing a video project, my cpu temp jumps to 90+ celsius. this happens only when im editing the clip, for example trimming it or whatever. its really really annoying and preventing me from working on the project since it gets super laggy and whatnot.. this does not happen when i playback the clip. When i playback the project, my cpu temp is normal, around 60 celsius. But when editing, boom 90celsius+ and final cut uses like 350% of my cpu..!!

Ive read some stuff about how to reduce the cpu usage. And i have stopped background rendering, and created proxy media, this dosnt help me however.. so I hope someone can give me a solutions because well mac is good for video editing but this is stupid since i cant even do it because of the cpu heating!

    thanks!

after you converted to proxy, did you change your playback settings to use proxy media?
