September 19, 2009 at 10:18 pmOccasionally, when booting up FCP the video monitor attached to the Intensity Pro will not respond. The card only recognizes 24p and 60p, if you want to use other rates then buy the higher end card. I still use the work around with the black magic software that I posted initially.

September 19, 2009 at 11:49 pmSigh!
The fact that this has been a known issue since July 2008 does not bove favorably for the IPro.
I see they say the card supports 1080i50, 1080i59.94, 720p50 and 720p59.94 for HD. Definitely different than your experience. Sure wish they’d drop in here at the forum and add some clarification as to whether this is their experience or whether you’re still battling some more elusive gremlin!
Thanks for the update, Douglas.

September 20, 2009 at 10:06 pmRick,
I forgot to mention that the Intensity Pro card does support 1080i because I hadn’t used 1080i until asked to this past week for a Discovery Channel piece. 720p60 has a sharper image than 1080i so that is what I use most. When I need slow motion or the film look I chose 24pn on the Panasonic HVX 200. The card handles these formats well but as mentioned before I occasionally lose the video monitor feed and get a “no signal” message on the monitor. That is when I use the Black Magic Express software and toggle between the playback and capture buttons until the image appears. Also, in FCP check the sequence settings to be sure they are the same as the video.
If you want to check out some footage we shot on the HVX and edited with the Intensity Pro / FCP combo go to the following links:

August 29, 2011 at 9:32 pmHey everyone. I was experiencing the same issue as you guys (Intensity Pro only displaying one frame at a time);I just chatted with Albert at Black Magic and he helped me fix the issue.
To start, you’ll need to know what format you’re working with. In my case (and probably in many other cases), I’m using DVCPRO HD 720p at 23.98 frames per second. With Final Cut open, click on the “Final Cut Pro” menu and go to “Easy Setup.” Leave format set to all formats and rate set to all rates. Then, from the “Use” menu drop down select the appropriate Blackmagic preset. In my case, it’s called “Blackmagic HDTV 720p 23.98 – DVCPRO HD.” Click “Setup” and voila! Albert had me create a new sequence before trying to play anything back, but I’m not entirely sure that step is necessary.
I hope that helps!
