    Hi

Is Anyone running FCP 5/Kona on tiger and Avid Express Pro 4.8.2
    on the same G5 ?.
Do you need to partition the Boot Drive or it is ok to have them
    on the same drive?

    Feedback and System configurations appreciated

Keeping FCP up to date may require that you upgrade to newer OS versions or newer Quicktime versions. AVID is, more often than not, a little delayed in officially supporting new OS and Quicktime versions. If they are both on the same boot partition you’ll need to decide whether the upgrades to FCP are worth the potential loss of functionality of your AVID software.

I decided that it was best to avoid this potential problem and went for the 2 partition approach.

    Hi Chris,
I have a 17″ Powerbook that currently has 1.5G of RAM on it. FCP 4.5 is loaded. I need to test drive the free AVID download on it to prep for working on a client’s AVID. Can you possibly take me through the dual boot process, if that is what you recommend? Or can I just load it and use it as is for my limited purposes?
    Thanks for your time!
