Final Cut Pro 7 Transitions Not Working On A Reversed Clip

I am quite new to using final cut pro 7, so what do you mean by the term ‘handles’

Handles refers to a margin of a few extra seconds of footage on the ends a clip, enough to cover a transition. If the handles are not long enough, you can’t make the transition work because you run out of frames before the transition is completed.
