I created a project with a low res video clip in FCP7. After the final edits, I made my original low res clip offline, then reconnected it to a new high res video clip (identical content, just much higher res). I assumed that I could then copy all the footage from the low res sequence and paste the clips to a new sequence set up with the proper specs. When I do this, I get video that is not fitting properly to the new sequence. Is there a simple way to do this?

Change your sequence settings to match the new format?

forgive my ignorance as I use Adobe and my partner is the one with Final Cut Pro 7, how does one change sequence settings to match footage?

right click the sequence and choose ‘ settings ‘
If you are unsure, make an empty sequence, drop in one clip.
FCP will ask you if you want the sequence to be set to the clip settings. Answer yes, and note the settings made for you.
