August 22, 2011 at 4:59 amok, if I open the project with no Mojo and Looks installed,
i create a new project and i copy inside just a sequence from the old one,
then install the plugins and open the new project i created with just that part…..it opens! but while the Mojo settings are still there, the one from Looks disappear????wow this thing is getting like the Twilight Zone.
probably i can export as video the parts of the old project where Looks and Mojo are already rendered, (this without the plugins installed yet)
then import them in the new project, and use them as reference for the clips that still need rendering,
to get back to the Looks settings I lost doing it,
but at least i’m not gonna lose all the color correction, just part of it.It’s gonna be a pain in the ass, but is better than losing everything.
Does anybody has an idea of why is doing this?
Even if I install the old versions of the plugins, still the Mojo settings are there, but the Looks settings are gone.
That’s so weird!

August 22, 2011 at 12:41 pmAre the Looks plugins, and the Mojo drivers the correct ones for the OS you’re running? Do check that out. Sounds like the drivers and/or the filters are fighting the OS..?

August 22, 2011 at 2:24 pmHey Jerry,
hope your weekend was good.
yeah! that’s the same i thought, that’s why i updated to Looks 2.0;
according to Red Giant’s website the specs are:“Apple Macintosh
Mac OSX 10.5.8 and later*
Mac Intel
2 GB of RAM
30 MB of Hard Drive space*Updating from Mac OS X 10.5 to 10.5.2 or later will in most cases solve compatibility issues. Please update your operating system before contacting support.”
My OSX is version 10.6.8 at the moment, and i have 4 GB of Ram, so I should be good!
And even if i install instead the old version of Looks, the 1.4.3 i had on before, still the settings does disappear!
How weird is that!?

February 21, 2012 at 9:10 amGreetings,
I have the same issue with my project files not opening and have moved the plugins, but there has been no change. These project files opened just fine before and after waiting for my sound design to finish, something apparently changed. Please help!
Thank you,
Wilson

June 13, 2012 at 3:22 amHello everyone,
I am having a similar type of problem of my own. I have been editing using FCP 7, and today when I opened FCP to continue my editing I encountered some problems. I was viewing some of my clips in the viewer window setting some ins and outs before putting them in the timeline. At about the 4th clip FCP started staling and i got the spinning color wheel. This kept occurring so I quit FCP. I re-opened FCP and somehow my computer ejected my hard drive so the media was offline. I reconnected my hard drive and then FCP said it was reading the project, it never went farther than 30-40% with that then suddenly loaded my cuts. My problem is my cuts loaded, but there is no video footage or sound. I am not sure what to do? Please advise…. I have been editing off of my external LaCie 7200 rpm 500GB and this project is the only thing on it. My scratch disk is also set to the drive. How do I get my project back, so I do not have to start over???
Thanks

February 8, 2013 at 2:44 pm2 yrs later…in case you guys see this, just wanted to say thanks to Jerry for putting the time into helping the rest of us. And in case anyone else runs into this problem…I simply trashed my render files and then project opened just fine. 🙂 Hopefully it’ll work for you too.
