I am shooting a project on a Canon 60D and my usual workflow is to plug in my SD card into my iMac and do a Log and Transfer (to get the Canon files into Apple ProRes 422) onto an external hard drive.

One one of my shoot days I had an additional Canon HDSLR shooter. He gave me his QTs and put them directly onto my hard drive. Now I need to make the files Apple ProRes 422. Can I do that with Log and Transfer or do I need to use Compressor?

Try MPEG Streamclip. It’s free and does great batch conversions.
