This year around NAB, there was a lot of speculation that Final Cut Pro would come out with a version 6. I have not heard anything else about it. Has anyone out there heard anything?

They just released FCP 5.1.2. FCP 6 will be VERY far away. And Apple is very tight lipped, so good luck finding out anything.

We were expecting 5.1.2 to come out next week, or the week after. SURPRISE! Early.

I imagine the long wait means FCP 6 is going to be a MONSTER.

New 64 bit OS coming, quad core Xeons, Multiple graphics cards for GPU processing – you do the math!

5.12 gets FCP to just where I want it for the moment, quite happy to wait for version 6.

I would hope that it will support mixed formats in the timelines.

Nothing public and Apple won’t release any information until it’s ready to come out. My guess would be NAB next year or about the time the second generation Intel desktops come out.
