Hello – We just purchased Final Cut Pro 6 for use in streaming our executive interviews onto the Net. Anyway, my boss edits and picks the interview snippets he wants to use on his PC ala Pinnacle Studio. He then gives me the mpegs to import into APPLE ala Final Cut Pro 6 to add to the intro template I created. The video imports well but there is no sound. Is there an incompatibility issue? Please advise. Thank you so much!

Final Cut does not edit standard MPEG material. It needs to be converted to a format compatible with the application. Most people I think use MPEG Streamclip, which is freeware you can download.

    All the best,

Thank you Tom. So I guess I just drop my mpeg file into this freeware and I’m all set — it will convert it?

Not quite. You should read through the MPEG Streamclip user guide in the Help menu.

Help. I am now having problems with putting two clips together in a sequence. After puting them together, frames drop, once playback comes upon the second clip. An error message reads this about dropped frames: It claims to do one of the following:
    “Turning off “Unlimited RT”
    Lowering compression Data Rate
    Closing OPen Sequences
Lowering the preference for Real Time audio tracks
    Increasing speed of your system

Has anyone run into this problem. If so, which one of the above seems most likely to fix the problem?

    Thank you
