    Hello,
Can anyone help? I have recently purchased a iMac with Final Cut Express. I am trying to edit with footage shot from a domestic camcorder. The footage was originally downloaded onto a PC with funny file formats .MOD. I had to convert them into QT files so FCE could read them. After a little while, my FCE began running slow and now it’s saying 2 hours to render a 30sec clip!!

Every time i click on a button or clip, the little coloured wheel appears. it’s getting quite frustrating. I have loads of memory (almost 1TB) and all my capture scratches are set etc. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I have to get this video completed soon but it’s currently taking so long!! (I’m used to working with a full FCP package, normally very quick)

    Any help appreciated,
    Thanks
    Alan

Why not give us real info. What codec are the clips, what settings do you have for your timeline.

That is not memory, that is your hard drive, memory is RAM.
