We shot a 1 hour movie in HDV and cut it in final cut. Everything is cool, timeline plays great.

Tried to export through compressor. Bad news. Six scenes in the opening sequence have problems (over and over) These scenes have effects on them (speed change, desaturate and resize… nothing fancy) Once compressor finishes (which takes 6 hours) and I play the MV2 it created (which I need for studio pro) the scenes mentioned begin playing when the movie gets to them, then they freeze frame until the scene ends. In one case, the scene plays, then turns pink and freezes.

    Frustrating. Yes, everything is rendered.

    help!!

Have you tried exporting a reference movie then compressing through compressor instead of exporting right through FCP?

You mean just export an uncompressed quicktime and then run that through compressor?

YOu could export an UNcompressed Quicktime, or just export a reference movie at whatever your timeline is at right now.

SImply go to Export > QUicktime Movie

    Setting: Current Settings
    Include: Audio and Video
Markers: All markers (or whatever you need or want)

Leave recompress All frames and Make movie self contained UNCHECKED.

Name it and click save. Drag the resulting movie into Compressor, setup a preset and compress.

I have been having the same issue with pink appearing whenever there is a cross-dissolve to black (or transparent/nothing on the timeline) upon export. The interesting thing I’m coming across is that exporting to ProRes 422(HQ) looks fine; I’m only having issues with H.264 compressions I’m making for the web.

I’m having this issue with two projects, one of which is also 23.98 sequence (actually, almost the exact same sequence settings as original post).

If you come across anything, please let me know! I’ll do the same once I find an explanation or solution.

    Thank you!
