I am having trouble using the Insert Button on Edit to Tape in Final Cut. It will not read my “In and Out” Points, it just keeps trying to write black to the tape. If anyone can help me, please write me back ASAP. Thanks.

Have you tried dragging the sequence from the browser? Make sure you have the proper ins and outs marked in that sequence and the print in to out option selected in the settings.

Also make sure there is no leader being laid down first. It could possibly be checked in your “Mastering Settings” tab inside the ETT window.

I second Bill’s suggestion, having had that “get me” once before. Make sure that the leader box is unchecked in the edit to tape window. Actually there are 2 boxes – one for head and one for tail. Even if you have selected “in to out”, if that black leader box is checked FCP will lay the black before the section of your sequence.
