Final cut capturing to separate clips?
Hi there,
I’m trying to capture a clip from a tape in one go into ONE clip, at the moment final cut is automatically splitting it into separate clips. I find this weird as well because in the user preferences the “Abort capture on dropped frames” is unticked, as is “Abort ETT/PTV on dropped frames”, AND the “On timecode break” drop down box is selected to ‘warn after capture’? Can anyone help?

What format are you captureing? HDV? That is prone to this as the GOP stream gets broken whenever you start and stop the camera recording.

That’s right. Even is you deselect the checkbox for new clip on start/stop.
