I have a strange variation on what seems to be a common problem. I’m capturing footage shot on an HDX900 with 2 channels of audio. Audio playback is clean on tape, yet has a popping sound (like some dynamic filter is switching on and off) once captured. This also occurs when the clips are exported as standalone quicktimes. The strange thing is that the problem goes away when I export to tape, and when I monitor audio and video externally. Any thoughts?

shouldn’t you be monitoring externally any way? (from a console)

I never use the built in-audio for fcp monitoring.

Perhaps, but when I export a Quicktime to post for clients, there’s that popping (that I’m not hearing through the external). How do I work around that one?

    ah.

I’m really frustrated at apple for not having better QC
    on the quicktime development.

sounds like a quicktime issue. try an update or downgrade.

or maybe try trashing quicktime preferences if there is one.
