I just purchased an HF200 camcorder for my video needs. I hook up the camcorder through usb and open up Final Cut. I then proceed to use the log and transfer function to transfer my video files. No luck nothing shows up and when I try to add the folder from my camera nothing happens. after about 5 mins of leaving the log and transfer window up my camera all of a sudden shows up and all of my videos are there and everything works great. It will do the exact same thing in imovie. You have to sit and wait about 5-10 mins before the camera shows up. I’ve tried this on multiple computers with the same thing happening everytime.

Not sure if there is anything I am doing wrong or if there is some settings that I need to change. But i would love not to have to wait forever for my videos to mount up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If any other suggestion on a way to get my .mts video files to my computer to edit that would help to. I’m trying to maintain exact picture quality and resoulution

I am running Final Cut Pro 6.0.5 and iMovie 08 My camera is a Canon HF200
    thanks,
    Josh

I recall some recent threads about ingesting mts clips. Do a search for mts and see what pops up.

    Dear Joshua Whit,

I know this is an old post but I am having the exact same problem, did you ever find a solution? Thank you for your help!
