I suggest partitioning the hard drive into two and putting FCS on one side and Avid on the other. WHile my laptop does have FCS2 and Avid 3.0 on it, I do have some minor conflict issues, unlike the MacPro that has both but on separate drives. But this might be due to the other stuff I have, like MXF4QT and other third party apps that I use to read MXF files from P2 cards natively. Since Avid now captures as MXF…there might be conflicts going on.
I will be getting a new MacBook Pro soon, and I will be partitioning that so that I can have both. You can try it. I don’t use this machine for day to day editing, mainly demos, so I can live with the minor issues.
