FINAL CUT 7 and Compressor 3.0 Question
Posted by Jennifer Mingoia on May 27, 2014 at 10:40 pmI am working with FCP 7 and I am trying to compress through compressor. When I go to submit the button is grayed out any reason why ?

May 27, 2014 at 11:17 pmYes. The version of Compressor that comes with FCP 7 is 3.5. That’s part of Final Cut Pro Studio 3, aka Final Cut Studio 2009. Compressor 3 is part of Final Cut Studio 2…that shipped with FCP 6. It isn’t linking because the version is wrong.

May 27, 2014 at 11:49 pmSo to answer your question…the best way to do this with what you have is to export a self contained QT movie, and then take that into Compressor.

May 28, 2014 at 12:19 amWell, I’d suggest installing the proper version of Compressor first. It’s on the FCS 3 install disk…the first one. Do a custom install and only choose Compressor.
Or you can try COMPRESSOR REPAIR…
