    I have a 1.8MHz G5 with 2 GB Ram running OS X 10.4.8.

    I have read recently about some new additions to the Finall Cut 5.1.2 upgrade – in particular how you can now use Motion’s filters within FCP.

    I had tried to upgrade my machine from FCP 5.0.4 to 5.1 a few months ago. But in running the upgrade I got the message that this was only for Intel-based machines and that I did not need this upgrade.

    Now — in seeing the 5.1.2 version has a few new niceties – I’ve downloaded that. However in running that upgrade it says “only machines that have 5.1 installed can use this upgrade.”

    I’d also like to use the more current version of Compressor but run into a similar situation.

    Does anyone know what the deal is?

    Is FCP 5.1.2 for both Power PC machines like mine and Intel machines?

    And if it is – what is the easiet upgrade path from 5.0.4 on a G5 to the most current version?
