Final Cut 5 won’t start up
I just upgraded my fcp hd to fcp 5 with the entire. i launched it, opened some fcop hd projects.
then i closed all projects and ran the cpu on safe boot (restart/hold shift key down) and repaired in disk utilities all priveligies.
Now after that my fcp 5 won’t launch, i only get to the poiint where it aks for external video and then it retrieves?
any clue?thanks

Try trashing your preferences now and see what happens

When you say it won’t start up, is it crashing? Assuming you are on Tiger how was that install done? Clean or Archived?

Third part plugins might be the problem. FCP 5 wont load all the way if it cant find the plugins you have installed in your plugins folder. Third party plugins such as Sapphire seem to be a culprit. Try taking out all third party plugins and see if that works.
