October 8, 2007 at 3:32 pmYou might be able to export an XML of the timeline and import in into FCP5.1. But you won’t be able to open the project.

October 8, 2007 at 3:36 pmDid Final Cut v2.0 have XML export functionality back then? i thought that started around FCP v4 or so.

October 8, 2007 at 4:01 pmI Don’t think that FCP2 had any XML in or out. That debuted with FCP 3 or 4, so far as I recall.

October 8, 2007 at 5:39 pmSorry guys. Miss read the original post in my hopes of being helpful.
I’d suggest trying to load FCP 3 to open the project in, and then trying to open it in FCP6.
