    Hi all
I’m running FCP 6.0.5 on 2.5 Ghz MacBookPro core 2 duo with 4Gb RAM and when I apply a filter it is not having any effect on the ProRes footage. It is not a render issue because it doesn’t show up when ‘parked’ on timeline either. I guess it must be some simple configuration or setup but I can’t work out what.
BTW I am applying 3 way colour corrector and channel invert but any other filter chosen at random has the same (non) effect. Thanks in advance…

I run into the same issue with ProRes, and I attribute it to slow (FW400) drives I’m using on my portable sys. What’s your storage solution?

I’m actually running my small amount of media off the internal sata (boot) drive for this. Have you any workaround that has been sucessful?

This practice is frowned upon for a host of reasons, not the least of which being that the OS and any running applications are competing for drive bandwidth. It most definitely explains the problem. I’d get the fastest external drive you can, and search this forum for recommendations.

    Cheers,

I use a Lacie 500g ‘Rugged’ – it is small and runs off FW800 AND doesn’t need separate power. Also works well with the Matrox MXO2 which takes up the Expresscard slot where I would have liked to use my eSata drives.

What would I do without the ‘UNDO’ button!!!!
