I’m working on a large file, about 2200 X 3000 pixels or so. The image I’m working on needs some artistic and texture filters and I can’t get either one of them to work.

At this point, the image is a 2 layer PSD in 8 bit mode. I’ve tried selecting either layer, deleting a layer, and nothing seems to work. I need to keep my layers, any suggestions

    Aaron,

Are you working in CMYK, Lab or RGB? Some filters are not available in CMYK or Lab. Change mode to RGB and apply filter and change back to CMYK. It is best to start as an RGB image and then convert as the last step.
    Hope this helps.
