    All,

I inherited a huge FC project from another shop (3 TB of media). They used the “SA Color Finesse” plug-in to fix a ton of shots. We do not own the plug-in. When I first opened the project and scrolled through the sequences, it would crash FC every time I hit Color Finesse. I managed to turn off all the instances, but for whatever reason, did not delete it. I am now sending the sequences to Compressor, and it is crashing every time it hits Color Finesse! I have been going through a second time to delete the filter, but that means double clicking on hundreds and hundreds of shots searching for the ones that have it applied. My question: Is there a better way? Has anyone ever had to do this before?

I almost yearn for the bad-old days of After Effects, where if you did the same thing, AE would simply delete the plug-in when you opened the project, leaving you unaware of what 3rd party plug-in was used!

    Thanks.

    Hi David,
If there are not other filters applied to the clips, is easy.
Select the clips and Remove Attributes> Filter.
Careful because will delete all the filter in the selected clips.

Many thanks for the hint. At this point I have color corrected all the clips so it will not work, but I have learned something new, and will certainly use this next time!

    Hi David,
    How is ColorFiness?
    Are you happy with it?
Can you compare it with Color and Colorista?
    Thanks,
    rafael

Unfortunately we do not own Color Finesse. The last folks to work on the project did. I really want to get Color. It looks quite powerful and much better than what is in FC now.

I was about to buy ColorFiness when Apple came with the gift of Color.
I have Color since Apple released, but I just started to use when I bought a SONY EX-1.
Before I’ve been shooting DV, but to use Color with DV footage doesn’t makes much sense.
The best of Color is the capability of masking to do Secondary CC. But those masks they can nt work too well in DV due to the poor color information.
With the EX-1 footage is different. You have eough definition to pull better masks.
For me the main problem of Color is that complicates the workflow too much.
The most of the time I don’t need such a in-deep CC and a for me good filter applied in the FC time line would be perfect.
