Activity Forums Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy Filter Issue

  • Posted by Alex Wishart on April 30, 2010 at 5:13 pm

Every time I try to change the settings on a filter I applied to a clip, a new tab comes up and shows me the entire clip of footage I imported into FCP.
It’s an Apple Intermediate Codec, so it won’t shock me if there is an issue due to it being that type. Any help is much appreciated.

Where does this new tab come up? What does it say on the window associated with the tab that identifies? Perhaps you could post a screen shot of what you’re seeing.

    All the best,

When I double click on my clip, a new tab comes up on the clip editing window. Next to my “Sequence 1” tab, a new tab pops up next to it with the captured footage’s name on it. All of that footage I can add filters and things to. But the original footage I scrubbed through and dropped into my editing window will not.

Not able to provide a screen shot. Sorry.

If it’s opening in the timeline window then it’s not a clip. You’re opening a sequence. Do you have a nested sequence? If you do and you wanted to open the nested sequence in the viewer, hold the Option key and double click on the nest.

    All the best,

    Tom
