I have to produce DVDs of a 2 day conference. The client wants the audio of each speaker with the slides they are talking to laid over the top.
I was going to take the audio from the sound desk into a Z-1, and Firewire it into FCP 6 and capture it at the same time. The Z-1 will be pointing at the screen which will be a reference for when the slides change, which I will import as TIFFs from Powerpoint/Keynote, then edit over the audio in FCP.
Then I will convert each talk into MPEG-2, and attempt to squeeze the 2 day conference onto 1 DVD (before finally admitting it will be 2 DVDs), then making 150 copies….
Dullsville, I know, but work is work.

Can anyone think of an easier way of doing this?
