Wondering if anyone has any good tutorials/ideas on how to fake a photo developing in a black room. Tried to film it but didn’t turn out quite as we hoped.

    Thanks
    Josh

    1. Try applying effect>adjust>levels.
    2. Go to the end of the animation and keyframe the histogram parameter.
    3. Go to the beginning and set your output black to 255.
    4. RAM preview.

You may wish to tweak the settings.

I also like to combine this with an extra layers that use transfer modes such as screen / multiply and color dodge / color burn. In combination with the levels and gamma controls you should be able to build a cool developing effect.

    Have fun, Lars

Perhaps add a very large, slowly evolving Fractal Noise on top of it in Overlay or softlight noise, that gradually fades away, to make it a bit less linear and uniform.
