Is there a way to build a film strip burn in Motion? I want to have an image freeze, then change to sepia and burn/melt as a transition. Just not sure how to go about it but it seems like it should be easy enough. Thanks for any advice, Aphasia

I’d do a search for some tutorials. Also you can do much better and more realistic effects with stock footage- try:

You could animate a rough ellipse mask shape and use animated color filters.

I’ve done a paper burn animation – it may be of interest to you. It takes a displaced paper image (courtesy of Dave Nagel) and scales up the Corona emitter with a custom shape. I also use a copy of the shape with a radial gradient to produce a scorched outline before the flames. The project is at https://homepage.mac.com/timburgess/motion/Paper Burn.sit
