  • Fill Character with Matte Colour and Animation

    Hi,

I’m working in After Effects and my problem is this:

I would like to use some footage I captured of a person against a green screen. I plan on keying out the green-screen and having an invisible background, but I would then like to fill the character with a black matte and animation that I created. Keep in mind the person is moving. Is this possible? I’m using after effect cc 2014

any advice would be much appreciated!

Yes, just use your greenscreen layer as an alpha matte.

    So…

    1. Precomp your animation
    2. Place your greenscreen footage above that layer and get the key done.
    3. On the animation layer, in the TrkMatte column, select “Alpha Matte_[GS LAYER]
