Doing a multicam project that came from plural eyes. This is not an Adobe problem, but a similar thing is happening. I sent an xml from PE to X then the same one to 7 (was trying to decide which program I’d use) I’m not sure if one has to do with the other but after leaving 7 and coming back to X all my footage from one camera went offline. When I try to relink its telling me that the source files have change or are not equal length which is untrue.

Now the crazy thing is, the files are online in the event browser but not in the angle editor. Any ideas?

Adobe products inject a little piece of metadata in every file upon importing to Adobe video products.

    It’s called XMP.

In Adobe CC, this option is now turned off by default. If you have cs6 or earlier, XMP is on.

If you have a back up copy of the media, it easiest to reimport the backup copy.

If you don’t, QTEdit from digital rebellion will strip XMP metadata.

This process would knock render files loose in fcp7, but fcpx seems to be much more picky.

    Thanks,

I know of the Adobe problem. These files were never opened by an Adobe app. Only X and 7. I’ve tried reimporting them but it doesn’t relink anything. It’s only one angle that’s affected throughout the full multi clip.

I am an idiot and misread.

I thought you said Pr, when you said PE which is PluralEyes. Sorry.

Do you have the original Plural Eyes project?

Yes I do have it. I generally import the plural eyes project then merge it with the event that I’ve set up.

So if you resend it, is the file still offline?

Strangely enough, when I resend from PE the same angle has many clips offline though they play just fine in the PE Window.
