I just reopened a saved FC Express file to discover that it cannot locate some media. So, I go to reconnect and the media files no longer exist. I looked for them throughout the system (including invisible files) and they do not exist on my computer. Some are used in the project, some are not.

    System Mac OS 10.6
    Final Cut Express HD 3.5
Project is contained on computer (no external drive) in one folder

    Timeline:

Saved and closed 1 minute FC document (all in working order)
    Quit FC
    Logged out of user
Logged in as new user (where I have airport enabled)
Checked messages, etc… for 1 hour
    Logged out
Logged back into my “video editing” user
Opened FC project and missing media

    How???? What??? Why??? HELP!

Run DiskWarrior. You might have a corrupt directory. Then Repair Permissions.
