Thanks for the reply.
I went to the Apple icon on the top left and clicked on software update and ran some updates from there.
That didn’t seem to do it. I’m not sure if I can do any updates directly from Apple
because it’s an academic version. Any other suggestions?

Hi Mike -i’m having the same issue but didnt see from this post how you solved it? Can you help? I’m also getting the same error message, and im on an academic version of Final Cut Pro 6
