Filename overlay
What I’m trying to do is add the filename of clip as an text overly. Looking for something similar to the TimecodeFX. Any ideas?
The files don’t have any embedded timecode. In the past I’ve used Text Media to create the overlay but I’m now faced with 500+ shots and the time/effort could be better spent elsewhere. Could scripting be of some use here?Thanks for any feedback.

Yes it can.
Excalibur has, in addition to many other worthwhile utilities, a tool called Quick Label that will do exactly what you want. -

This is the first time I’ve required the use of scripting. It seems that there is a lot more it can do than I assumed. Thanks for opening my eyes.

Scripting has to be one the best features that Vegas offers and is one of, if not the big reason I went with Pro and not Movie Studio as it doesn’t offer it.
There are literally hundreds of free scripts out there as well as a number of paid ones ranging from single purpose to “you can do all that?” offerings.
